FlightSafety Names Bob Reding Senior Advisor To The CEO

Airline Executive Most Recently With AMR Corporation

FlightSafety International has named Bob Reding to the position of Senior Advisor to the CEO. “We are pleased and proud that Bob has joined the FlightSafety team,” said Bruce Whitman, President & CEO. “Bob will be involved and contribute to all components of our business. His experience and contacts in the aviation industry will help to secure new opportunities for FlightSafety.”

Reding (pictured) has successfully led and contributed to the management and operation of several airlines during his 30 years in the industry. He was most recently Executive Vice President-Operations, for AMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines. He also served as Senior Vice President-Technical Operations, American Airlines; Chief Operations Officer, American Eagle; President and CEO, Canadian Regional Airlines; President and CEO, Reno Air; Vice President of Flight Operations, Midway Airlines; and Vice President of Flight Operations, Air Florida.
 
He graduated first in his class in the United States Air Force pilot training program and served as a pilot flight examiner. He holds FAA Air Transport Pilot Ratings for Douglas DC-9/MD-80 and Boeing 737 series aircraft and has accumulated over 10,000 hours as a commercial pilot.
 
Bob is an honors graduate from the California State Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering and received his master's degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University. He is a member of the President's Council of the California State Polytechnic University and has served as a board member on numerous aviation, civic and charitable organizations.
