Garmin G600 STC Install Approved For Citation 500 Series

JetTech Develops ‘Glass Panel’ Install Now Available as Retrofit

The FAA has granted an STC to Colorado-based JetTech for the new Garmin G600 “Glass Panel” EFIS installation modification specifically for Cessna Citation 500 series aircraft to include models 500, 501, 550, 551 and S550. With the FAA approval, JetTech will begin offering kits available through JetTech approved Garmin authorized dealers. A complete documentation package is supplied to support the installation process.

The new modification is designed to provide pilots with the highest degree of Situational Awareness.

“In developing this installation, we wanted to add features to Legacy Citations that pilots are demanding in today’s technology driven cockpit environment,” said Rob Irwin, founder and member/manager of JetTech. “As a result, we’ve included such features as synthetic vision, terrain awareness, traffic collision avoidance systems, digital weather radar, satellite weather radar and lightning strike information.”

According to Irwin, one of the most important features of the STC is the retention of the existing RVSM system installed in the aircraft. He said by using JetTech’s proprietary Air Data Interface Unit (AIU), the aircraft’s existing RVSM solution will still be displayed on the copilot side as well as on the pilot side. “The installation also includes additional major equipment upgrades,” Irwin Explained. “Primary is the replacement of the existing Iron Vertical and Horizontal Gyros with advanced solid state Attitude Heading Referencing System (AHRS).”

In addition to the Garmin G600 STC Install for Legacy Citations, JetTech previously announced a Garmin G600 RVSM STC Award for Cheyenne III, IIIA & 400LS. Currently, JetTech has a pending STC to install the New Garmin GTN 650/750 “Touch Screen” series GPS for the Citation 500 series that includes WAAS approvals.
