New Flight School for Tennessee Students Opens Soon

Nashville Flight Training Expands to Maury County

Tennessee area flight school, Nashville Flight Training, has begun operations this month to open a satellite location at Maury County Regional Airport (MCRA). With an open house planned for October 28, the school is looking forward to creating more aviators to add to their 3,000 alumni taught over ten years of education.

The new facilities at Maury will feature new aircraft, flight simulators, and classrooms with plenty of space for ground training. “We’re thrilled to be joining the many businesses and organizations that call Maury County home,” said Chris Erlanson, president of Tennessee Flight Training. “Pilots are in-demand, and we’re excited to provide a local path to those who want to make this their career, or who simply want to take to the skies as a personal or business pursuit. No matter the end goal, flying from Maury County Regional Airport is another fantastic way to make that a reality.”

Like most flight schools, they offer a range of options to suit student needs, from recreational ratings to professional certifications, with financing available, and a wide range of scholarships available for qualifying students. They operate under Part 61 rules, which they say is a better fit for most students, allowing flexibility in building a flight schedule into a busy life.

For prospective students, the school offers a “Pilot Camp”, specifically for aspiring pilots ages 13-18. The camp gives students a week of hands-on participation in aviation, integrating science, technology, engineering, and math needed for flight. Before the week is over, they will have the chance to log a few hours of flight time of their own, after completing practice in the simulator.
