Bernie Sanders New ‘No Plane, No Gain’ Spokesman

Presidential Candidate Sees The Value In Private Jets

Aero-News April 1 Special Edition

The NBAA has announced that Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has been added to the roster of business aviation boosters as part of its “No Plane, No Gain” campaign.

Sanders, a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, has made extensive use of corporate jets in his run for President, using up to three Gulfstream jets to ferry himself and his entourage between campaign events, and that caught the attention of NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen.

“We may disagree on a lot of issues, but anybody who gets the value of private jets for business use deserves to be considered,” Bolen said. “We reached out to the Sanders campaign, and while they were initially leery of the idea because of the apparent conflict between socialism and corporate airplanes, Sanders himself was very receptive to the idea.”

“Getting my name out there, that’s important,” Sanders said. “I already own three homes, and the ‘Bernie Bros’ don’t seem to mind that. So why not? I love traveling by private jet.

“I just have to remember which one I’m supposed to be on at the airport.”

President Trump responded to the announcement on Twitter. “Crazy Bernie better enjoy his private jets, because he’s never gonna get to use the best airplane in the world … Air Force One,” he Tweeted.

There are questions about having Sanders as part of the “No Plane, No Gain” campaign with the association’s annual convention being held so close to election day should he decide to not suspend his campaign. “We’re looking into whether that would be an in-kind contribution to the Sanders campaign,” said an FEC representative on the condition of anonymity. “It kind of depends on what happens at the convention in July.”
