Aero-TV At Oshkosh 2009: Carter Aviation - Personal Air Vehicle Prototype

Intriguing Prototype Shown To Public Is Subject Of First New Aero-TV Programming Option... Aero-Minutes!

E-I-C Note: I am inordinately proud of the work that ANN's Aero-TV teams do when it comes to online video... we have (from the very start) eschewed the awful, amateurish video styles so many other organizations favor in an effort to be a part of a media revolution that they neither respect or understand. Like with our online audio offerings, ANN was one of the first to adopt such new technologies and has watched a number of other entities try to keep up. We wish them luck with that (grin). "Aero-Minutes" are a new programming option from Aero-News... already well-known for our longer form features, news programs, Daily News Updates and so much more, Aero-Minutes are designed to give you a quick but professionally produced summation of an intriguing topic or breaking news in a faster paced format, which also allows us (in terms of news coverage) to turn such programming around in a lot less time -- without sacrificing the quality that has become part of our ethos. We hope you are as excited as we are to see yet another innovation in our news and feature programming -- as you can plainly see, we don't sit around here much when we could, instead, be innovating... -- Jim Campbell, ANN-I-C.

Carter Aviation Technologies has revealed reveals their four-seat personal air vehicle at AirVenture 2009. Designed to take off and land vertically, the aircraft is able to cruise at high speeds with the efficiency of a fixed-winged airplane.

Carter Aviation Technologies is a research and development company, pioneering new aviation concepts. Their primary focus is the slowed-rotor compound aircraft, a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft that uses the rotor for takeoff and landing, and a small, efficient wing for high speed flight, up to 500 mph, all with much less complexity than a tilt-rotor or other vectored thrust vehicle. Carter successfully demonstrated the slowed rotor concept with the CarterCopter Technology Demonstrator (CCTD), the first and only aircraft to reach mu-1.
