Turkish Airlines Transfers All Flight Reporting Functions To iPads

Critical Communications Now To Be Handled Digitally By The Airline

A project to improve the quality of cabin services has been initiated by Turkish Airlines in partnership with tech company Innova. Using a new Digital Cabin Management System (DCMS), flight attendants are able to file all necessary reports instantly by using iPads instead of paper-based systems. The DCMS also helps staff to address important issues as soon as they arise.

Using the DCMS, all the flight reports, supply orders and other critical communications that were previously completed on paper forms are now being recorded and submitted using iPads. The system also helps staff to address important issues immediately, makes central monitoring of critical tasks substantially easier, and ensures that critical orders and cabin data are obtained much more efficiently.

With the successful implementation of the first phase of the project, over 2,000 senior flight attendants are now using iPads provided by Innova, Apple Authorized System Integrator in Turkey, to file all the notifications required by Turkish Airlines headquarters, including orders for fresh supplies, holiday requests and work schedules for team members. The system saves flight attendants considerable time, while also reducing the airline's use of paper by one metric ton a month, thus making the digitalization project into a successful ecological initiative.

The Digital Cabin Management System for Turkish Airlines makes it easier than ever to create, transfer and monitor digital documents.

In DCMS project, Innova undertook every aspect of the installation and configuration of the tablets, ensuring that the central application and hardware accessories distributed to the cabin crews were all designed to reflect Turkish Airlines' corporate identity. Innova's experienced software team also developed the server-side digital cabin management application that connects together all the mobile devices.
