Goodrich Selected To Provide Engine Control System For HF120 Turbofan

Engine Will Power HondaJet, Spectrum's "Freedom"

Aero-News has learned Goodrich Corporation was recently selected to provide an integrated engine control system for the GE Honda HF120 engine, which will power the HondaJet and Spectrum "Freedom" business jets.

The contract may generate up to $200 million in original equipment and aftermarket revenue for Goodrich over approximately 20 years.

Under the terms of the contract, Goodrich is responsible for the overall engine control systems integration which includes specifying, integrating and testing all control components.

Goodrich's West Hartford, CN and Birmingham, UK facilities will be designing and manufacturing the fuel control system which includes the Full Authority Digital Electronic Control (FADEC), the Fuel Pump & Metering Unit (FPMU) and the Bleed Valve Actuator (BVA).

"This is a strategically significant win for Goodrich, solidifying our position in the light business jet marketplace," stated Marc Duvall, President of Goodrich's Engine Control and Electrical Power Systems division.

"We are excited about working with GE Honda on their first entry into gas turbine engines for business jets. This contract also marks a first for Goodrich. It is the first major development program leveraging the global breadth of our team's engine control technologies across our North American & UK facilities," Duvall continued.
