6 DA40 NGs and 2 DA42-VIs Delivered to Sohar Airport
Oman Aviation Academy, based in the country’s Sohar Airport, prides itself as the first aviation training academy in Oman to provide suitably professional civil and military training in the Middle East and African region. Diamond recently fulfilled a purchase order through delivery of 6 single-engine DA40 NG and 2 twin-engine DA42-VI aircraft, as well as a Diamond aircraft convertible FSTD installed.
The school took a moment to pose with their staff in front of the fleet, excited to hit the ground running with their shiny new planes. Captain Abdullah Al Bulushi, CEO at Oman Aviation Academy shared his excitement during the handover. “We are very glad to have the Diamond aircraft and the Diamond simulator at our facility in Oman. At OAA we are committed to adhere to the highest quality and safety in the aviation training industry. Our partnership with Diamond Aircraft by using their top-of-the-line training aircraft and simulators will definitely support OAA to accomplish its mission to provide the airline industry with the next generation of highly qualified aviation professionals.”
“We are proud to be part of OAA’s venture. Their choice for our flight training solution underlines Diamond’s leading position in the flight training market. With the industry’s safest, most efficient, reliable and technologically advanced aircraft together with the professional Diamond Flight Simulation Training Device, OAA will be at the forefront of the pilot training business,” says Jane Wang, Sales Director at Diamond Aircraft Austria.
The sale continues a recent streak for Diamond's aircraft in the training industry, with modern avionics, more fuel efficient aircraft, and decidedly modern ramp appeal, Diamond has built a winning portfolio. Their support for type-specific flight training simulators and proprietary jet-fuel engines has built them a niche as an all-in-one, modern provider for larger schools willing to pay to maintain the DA42. Their interest in edging out traditional legacy aircraft providers has culminated in their upcoming, carbon-fiber turboprop DART, a tandem seat competitor to advanced pilot training in the same vein as the Beechcraft Texan or Embraer Tucano.
