Aero-TV At Oshkosh 2009: Sonex Aircraft - Introducing the Single-Place Jet

Ready For A Personal Pocket Rocket???

Sonex Aircraft, the local kit aircraft manufacturer, had an exciting reveal at the company open house on Sunday, July 26th, 2009... and this one was guaranteed to get attention. Face it, haven't you always wanted your very own jet plane... and haven't you always one that DIDN'T mean having to mortgage your house, your first-born and all hopes of a decent retirement?

Enter The Sub-Sonex... the latest madness/inspired genius from the minds of the Monnett factory.

The Sub-Sonex, a true single-place jet, weighs 330 pounds and has a 750 pound gross weight. The engine is a modified version of a small turbine normally used to power RC aircraft that will generate 170 to 200 pounds of thrust.

How fast??? 'At altitude' speeds over 250 knots are contemplated. You better beleive that we have a few folks at ANN that are all over this one -- zoooooooommmmmmmm.....
