Brazil Warns Planes Violating Olympic Airspace Will Be Shot Down

Security Plan Involves Using 41,000 Soldiers In Olympic Venues

If you were planning to fly over Olympic venues in Brazil next month ... that would probably be inadvisable.

Brazilian Defense Minister Raul Jungmann said during a news conference outlining the country's security plan for the games that any unidentified aircraft that violates protected airspace around the Olympic venues in Rio de Janeiro will be shot down.

"We are not playing," he said during the news conference, according to Latino Fox News.

The overall security plan involves 41,000 military personnel, with about half in Rio de Janeiro and the rest split between cities where soccer will be played. There will also be 60 ships, 70 armored vehicles, and 28 helicopters involved in the effort.

The government will also beef up security at the airport, according to the report.
