OMNI Announces Aviation Fleet Expansion

Second Sikorsky S-76 to be purchased; expands revenue base and market capabilities

Omni Energy Services Corp. has announced that it will acquire a second Sikorsky S-76 helicopter for the transportation of ten  or more passengers to offshore locations in the Gulf of Mexico. The Company previously announced it had received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration for the transportation of ten or more passengers and the purchase of its first Sikorsky S-76.

Delivery of the second Sikorsky S-76 is expected during the third quarter of 2004. Both aircraft are expected to begin operating from land bases in Texas and Louisiana at the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2004.

On the newest addition to the Omni fleet, James C. Eckert commented "The aviation division has reported impressive profit margins with its new revenue stream. The Sikorsky S-76's will substantially improve our ability to completely service our customers' needs while further improving our revenue base. Our primary market focus will continue to be shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico; however, the combination of the Sikorsky S-76's with our fleet of Bell 407's now affords OMNI the ability to also service the 'deep water, Gulf of Mexico' demands of our customers."

Headquartered in Carencro, LA, OMNI Energy offers a broad range of integrated services to geophysical companies engaged in the acquisition of on-shore seismic data and through its aviation division, transportations services to oil and gas companies operating in the shallow, offshore waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The company provides its services through several business units: Seismic Drilling, Helicopter Support, Permitting and Seismic Survey. OMNI's services play a significant role with geophysical companies who have operations in marsh, swamp, shallow water and the U.S. Gulf Coast also called transition zones and contiguous dry land areas also called highland zones.
