StandardAero Cleared to Maintain Hamilton Sundstrand APS 2300 APU

StandardAero is now cleared for MRO services on Hamilton Sundstrand's APS 2300 Auxiliary Power Unit (APU). Late last year, StandardAero entered into an agreement with Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems (HSPS) when it was appointed as the first "Authorized Repair Facility" for the APS 2300 APU. It was the first product StandardAero and Hamilton Sundstrand had collaborated on. Through the completion of its first engine, StandardAero demonstrated that the test cell is now fully functional and correlated, obtaining both FAA and Hamilton Sundstrand Certifications at its APU facility in Maryville, Tenn.

Under the initial agreement, HSPS provides StandardAero with technical support and training, engine manuals and APS 2300 related approved maintenance data, in addition to access to HSPS spare parts and component and line replaceable unit repairs. Final certification also allows StandardAero to perform HSPS warranty repairs for the APS 2300 program.

"Today's final certification represents a significant milestone in the expansion of our existing portfolio of services for the regional airline market," said Tim Fischer, Vice President & General Manager, Maryville Facility.

"Our long standing experience in aero-engine maintenance and our innovative concepts of repair technology are some of the benefits today's certification announcement offers customers."

Currently, APS 2300 APUs are installed on the popular E-Jet family manufactured by Embraer. With the growing fleet of operating Embraer 170/190 aircraft (as shown above) and the resulting demand for alternative repair sources, HSPS selected StandardAero as an independent service provider.
