Airborne Oshkosh Day 3: Volocopter Flies, Hartzell Family, Certified GAMI G100UL

07.28.21: Flight Design's F2, Pilot Communications Bluetooth, Daher Talks Kodiak and TBM940, Pelton Int'w, Part 3

The 'Multi-Multi-Rotor' Volocopter is not only here but already conducted several manned flight demonstrations showing off the craft’s maneuverability and VERY low noise signature. Must see video!

Hartzell’s Family of aviation businesses continue to grow and grow, with Tanis being the latest addition. Here’s an overview of their many companies and numerous projects and upgrades. Flight Design’s F2 is the latest generation of composite high-wing light sport aircraft... and the F2 shows that the Flight Design team has been listening to years of requests and suggestions. Daher showed off the latest version of the Kodiak at Oshkosh and also announced a new addition to the TBM940 that’s ‘not for pilots.’ Pilot Communications has been dazzling Oshkosh crowds with the lightest and most capable new headset series we’ve seen so far... including multiple source Bluetooth capabilities! GAMI has shocked GA with the RECENT certification of their G100UL fuel... a substitute for 100 Low Lead -- and possibly in the nick of time as storm clouds gather over the future of leaded aviation fuels. AvFuel is ramping up to distribute the new fuel, on an equal emphasis with their 100LL products. Jack Pelton chats about efforts to promote aviation among the younger generation in the third part of our five part interview. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
