Look Out Below! Hawker 400XP Flies Steep Approach to London City Airport

A Hawker 400XP recently performed the inaugural landing at London City Airport as part of Raytheon Aircraft Company's (RAC) development program to certify the aircraft for flight into London City's infamous  Airport. Prior to landing, the aircraft also performed three 'go around' maneuvers to monitor aircraft and instrument landing system performance. Capt. John Sadler reported the landing and takeoff performance was excellent.

"The Hawker 400XP business jet combines luxury, comfort, and economy with unmatched performance and reliability. This achievement adds to the aircraft's mission versatility and further distinguishes the Hawker 400XP unique capabilities," said Brad Hatt, president and general manager of Hawker.

Having completed the steep approach flight, RAC's aircraft servicing business, located at Hawarden Airport in North Wales, will now proceed to the development and certification aspect of the project with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) with the goal of achieving an EASA Supplemental Type Certificate.

Raytheon Aircraft Services Limited is Raytheon Aircraft Company's U.K. service center located at Hawarden Airport in North Wales.
