Jeppesen And Pegasus Airlines Extend 20-Year Relationship

The Companies Agree To A New Five-Year Charting Service

A five-year charting navigation service renewal agreement has been signed by Jeppesen and Pegasus Airlines, a commercial carrier based in Istanbul, Turkey. The agreement extends standard airway manual paper charting service and digital Web access to industry-leading Jeppesen charts through e-Link online and NavData service applications for the airline.

A 20-year Jeppesen customer from its inception in 1990, Pegasus Airlines is preparing to transition from using paper charts to implementing full digital navigation information solutions, aided by the new service agreement. Jeppesen e-Link online services supplement paper airway manual charting through a Web-based charting application, which is presented in a Windows operating environment.

"Jeppesen charting solutions have provided reliable, trusted navigation information for us for 20 years, and we are pleased to come to an agreement that furthers this partnership as we look to transition from paper-based information to digital services," said Omer Kaya, Pegasus Airlines performance manager. "The combination of paper chart manuals with online access provides us with reliable navigation information that enables safe and efficient transport of our passengers across the globe."

Through the agreement, Pegasus Airlines also continues implementation of Jeppesen NavData services which provide the airline with precise, GPS-based navigation information for the flight deck while incorporating thousands of complex global airspace changes. "Pegasus Airlines is a long-standing, 20-year navigation information customer and we are pleased to continue delivering solutions that help increase operational efficiency for this respected commercial carrier," said Thomas Wede, Jeppesen senior vice president and general manager, Aviation. "In today's challenging business climate, we offer solutions that help airlines transition to digital solutions that provide value by reducing costs and time required for pre-flight preparation."

The new agreement provides charting services for a fleet of 27 Boeing 737 aircraft operated by Pegasus Airlines. The airline currently serves more than 100 international destinations in 17 countries.
