Boeing Says It's Pitching 30 Airlines On 7E7

Executive Predicts 500 Sales By First Flight

Boeing says it's talking with 30 companies worldwide about signing on for the 7E7 Dreamliner. If things keep going like this, says 7E7 Senior Vice President Mike Bair, Boeing could sell 500 Dreamliners before the aircraft rolls out in 2007.

As ANN has reported, Boeing has already sold both All Nippon Airways and Air New Zealand on the Dreamliner, promising to deliver passengers to their destinations at a 20-percent fuel savings.

The latest market under Boeing's microscope is Europe. "I'm absolutely convinced you're going to see this airplane in the UK and flying around with British airline colors," said Boeing Commercial Aircraft's top salesman in Europe, Marlin Dailey. He said Boeing is in talks with up to a dozen European airlines.

"There's no doubt we will be bringing a European launch customer some time this year," he said at a London news conference.
