Turboprop Airliners The Talk Of Weeklong Trade Show
Bombardier recently concluded its
bi-annual Q-Series turboprop Operators’ Conference and Trade
Show. Over 550 participants from around the world came together to
participate in training opportunities and to review best practices
regarding maintenance and technical solutions which were all
directed towards elevating carriers’ operational
efficiency.
From June 16 to 20, representatives from 72 participating
airlines attended workshops and sessions with Bombardier partners,
suppliers and resident experts.
"The record number of attendees at this year’s event
speaks volumes about its value to operators of Q-Series
turboprops," said Todd Young, Vice President, Customer Services and
Support, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. "It facilitated the
sharing of information with operators, and also provided an
opportunity to convey more about the steps Bombardier is taking to
enhance customer service and support."
Bombardier also took the opportunity to make several
announcements on new tools and initiatives to enhance the Q-Series
aircraft’s dispatch reliability, inclduing Bombardier's new
Customer Reliability Tool (CRT)-- designed to give customers
instant online access to aircraft reliability performance
information.
The planemaker also announced the Top Reliability Issues
Meetings or TRIM initiative, to dramatically improve response time
on technical enhancements by fast-tracking them as soon as they are
identified.
A five-year agreement for a Smart Services Component Repair and
Exchange program was aso signed with the Luxair Group to service
their fleet of Q400 aircraft. Guaranteed access to nearly 250 parts
will allow Luxair to respond quickly in the event of an
Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) incident, from a central component pool at
Bombardier’s parts distribution center in Frankfurt,
Germany.
Other Q400 aircraft customers using the busy Frankfurt hub
should also benefit from the ready availability of parts in the
pool, the planemaker added.
