Timothy T. Archer,
President and CEO of Superior Air Parts, Inc. has announced the
promotion of Kent D. Abercrombie to Vice President, Finance.
“We felt Kent’s extensive background in dealing with
various customer and vendor relationships would be extremely
valuable as Superior continues its growth from being the leading
aftermarket supplier of aircraft piston engine cylinders,
components and parts, into the manufacturer of the newest FAA
certified piston engine,” Archer said. “Both of these
sides of our business have their own unique accounting requirements
and I’m confident that Kent is up to the
challenge.”
Abercrombie joined Superior in December of 2000 as the Director
of Finance. Before coming to Superior he was Senior Financial
Analyst for Honeywell’s Aerospace Hardware Division where he
was responsible for the accounting of the Just-In-Time Contract
program, which provides automatic hardware auditing and restocking
services to leading aerospace companies. Prior to that he held the
position of Assistant Director of Contract Administration at
TriStar Aerospace from 1997 until the company became part of
Honeywell in 1999.
“When you think
of what it takes to bring a brand new piston engine to market,
people really don’t consider accounting to be a big piece of
it,” Abercrombie said. “But because Superior is now
both a manufacturer of individual components and parts and the new
Vantage Engine, we have the challenge of integrating both sets of
accounting requirements together to create a system that works well
for both sides of the business. It’s a whole new way of
working with suppliers and vendors. These are very exciting times
for everyone here at Superior.”
Abercrombie holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration
from the University of North Texas.
