Nate Darlington Will Increase Responsibilities At The Facility
Duncan Aviation has named Nate Darlington as Director of Modifications at the company’s full-service facility in Battle Creek, Michigan. Darlington will continue in his role as Manager of the Battle Creek Paint department, and he will also assume responsibility for the Avionics and Interior shops. In addition to his current and new responsibilities, Darlington was welcomed as a member of the Duncan Aviation Senior Management Team.
Darlington is taking on these new roles and responsibilities after Vice President of Modifications and Completions Andy Richards transitioned to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Duncan Aviation Battle Creek facility. Richards took on his new role after the retirement earlier this month of Executive Vice President and COO Tom Burt.
“Tom has had a tremendously positive effect on the Battle Creek facility. As we usher in the new era of leaders, we are excited for the opportunity to carry on his legacy, while continuing to raise the bar on quality and customer service,” says Darlington. “We want to ensure that our facility provides professional development and team member growth because everything starts with our team members—whatever we put into them, we get out.”
Darlington is also quick to point out that Duncan Aviation has a strong customer base, and the quality the Duncan Aviation team members provide to customers defines the company. These are concepts Darlington learned as a 19-year-old when he was first hired at Duncan Aviation. He’d been attending a community college in Battle Creek, saw a job for the Interior Shop, applied, and was hired.
“As soon as I got here, I absolutely loved the company, the culture, and the people I worked with,” says Darlington. “I had found my opportunity at Duncan Aviation, and I felt fulfilled and inspired. All I wanted to do was make sure everyone else who worked here and who came here as a customer had the same incredible experience. In fact, even after all these years, I still get giddy on delivery days!”
While he worked in the Interior Shop, Darlington served as an Alternate Shift Supervisor and Scheduler, transitioning to Sales seven years later. In early 2017, he moved to his current role as Manager of the Paint Department.
“Nate’s broad range of experience at Duncan Aviation and his proven track record as a leader will ensure his success in this new role,” says Richards. “I am excited for Nate. The Modifications teams are in good hands.”
Darlington and his wife Meghan have two children, Alivia (7) and Tucker (6), and they all enjoy exploring the many recreational and boating destinations Michigan has to offer.
