A Gift Almost Any Dad Would Love

Flying Into History For Fathers Day

For all of you ANN readers who are dads, find a way to leave this page up where your wife and kids can see it, particularly if you live in the Galveston area (hint, hint). The Lone Star Flight Museum is currently taking reservations for flight positions in some of its classic WWII aircraft, including the B-17 Flying Fortress, B-25 Mitchell, T-6 Texan and the T-41 Mescalero on Saturday for June 20th. Father's Day gift certificates are also available.

"Experience the sights, sounds and smells of American aviation aboard one of our historic aircraft.  It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fly in an authentic World War II bomber or trainer and feel the power of these amazing machines," said Larry Gregory, President of the Lone Star Flight Museum. "Today, few airworthy examples remain of these historic aircraft that defended freedom across the globe.  A flight in one of our airplanes is truly a boarding pass to history."

The B-17 and B-25 are two of the most famous bombers from the WWII era while the T-6 served as the advanced trainer during the war.  The T-41 is a modified Cessna 172 that served with the Army from 1967-1979 and can carry up to three passengers. The Lone Star Flight Museum is the only organization to offer flights in these four aircraft at one location.

A historic flight experience is the perfect gift for Father's Day. "If you are looking for a rare and unique gift for the dad who has everything, a warbird ride is the ticket he will always remember," says Gregory. Rides are available for Father's Day on Saturday, June 20th from 9AM-5PM at the museum's facility in Galveston. Reservations are encouraged.
