Canadian Medical Transporter Ornge Buys a Dozen PC-12s

Pilatus Snags Another Layup in the Medevac Market

Ornge (not a typo, that's some good ol' marketing in action), an Ontario-based medical transport service, will begin taking delivery of a dozen Pilatus PC-12s in 2026.

The Air ambulance and critical care provider will receive the rest of the order through 2030, putting them into service as it modernizes its fleet with brand new, freshly painted aircraft. The service is vital to providing reliable, quality care throughout a number of far-flung northern indigenous communities, a task the Pilatus is well suited to.The purchase deal was announced by the Honorable Sylvia Jones, Ontario’s Minister of Health, at one of Ornge’s 14 bases in Sudbury. Ornge currently owns and operates a fleet of fixed and rotary wing aircraft, including 8 Pilatus PC-12 NGs, which will be rotated out of service with the acquisition of new PC-12s. Ornge has been operating its current fleet of PC-12s since 2009.

“The Pilatus PC-12 has played a significant role in Ontario’s air ambulance program for many years," said Homer Tien, President and CEO of Ornge. "Its performance, versatility and reliability have helped us deliver high quality care in transport across the province, including many remote Indigenous communities in the north. With the renewal of our fleet, we know that this aircraft will continue to help us save lives and deliver health equity for generations to come.”
