Garmin Service Alert: GNS 430/430A

Service Alert: 050321
Affected Product:
GNS 430 and GNS 430A units manufactured between Feb 23, 2005 and March 21, 2005. Affected units serial numbers are as follows:

  • GNS430 s/n 97125747 through 97126193
  • GNS430 s/n 96303169, 97107697, 97123197, 97123079
  • GNS430A s/n 46150016 through 46150024

Immediate Action Required: Pilots, Operators, and Avionics Installers, do NOT fly IFR operations using the affected product(s).

Pilots, Operators, and Avionics Installers, notify all customers and pilots who may have an affected product(s).

Avionics Installers, hold all affected inventory until corrective action is accomplished.

Avionics Installers, do not approve installations with affected product(s) until corrective action is accomplished.

DESCRIPTION: Garmin has discovered an issue with the above listed GNS 430 units. This issue may result in the GNS 430 unit tripping the aircraft circuit breaker, rendering the unit inoperative.

CORRECTIVE ACTION: If you have an affected GNS 430 unit, please contact your local Garmin Authorized Service Center immediately to arrange for modification or exchange of the subject GNS 430 unit.
