NetJets Unions Coalition Announces Informational Picket

Labor Action To Be Held At Corporate Offices On Friday, March 28

The NetJets Unions Coalition will place informational pickets at the NetJets Corporate Offices in Columbus, OH on Friday, March 28, 2014, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The coalition is an alliance comprised of the NetJets Association of Shared Aircraft Pilots (NJASAP), the collective bargaining agent for the 3,000-plus pilots who fly in the service of NetJets, and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 284, which represents approximately 500 NetJets dispatchers, flight attendants, maintenance controllers, mechanics and stock clerks. NetJets is a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary.

The coalition said in a media advisory that the reason for the pickets is to inform the public that NetJets has launched an unprecedented attack on its unionized employees' pay, benefits and working conditions despite rising profits. They say that while demanding contract concessions from unionized employees, profit-sharing checks are being handed out to managers and non-union employees.

The flight attendants have been in contract talks for more than three years and have had no choice but to engage the services of a mediator from the National Mediation Board in an attempt to settle the dispute.
