L-3 Awarded T-1A Jayhawk Logistics Support Contract

Contract Has Options For 8 Years

L-3 Communications announced Wednesday that its Systems Field Support (SFS) division was awarded a 60-day base contract with eight option years from the U.S. Air Force to serve as prime contractor on the T-1A Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) program. The total value of the contract with all options is $680 million.

The L-3 SFS operating unit in Madison, Mississippi is responsible for overall program management of T-1A CLS, encompassing logistics, material supply support, and repair overhaul services for 179 T-1A aircraft based at Vance Air Force Base, OK, Columbus Air Force Base, MS, Pensacola Naval Air Station, FL, and Randolph and Laughlin Air Force Bases in Texas. The T-1A Jayhawk aircraft are used by the Air Force for introductory flight training.

“L-3 Systems Field Support and our industry partners, Hawker Beechcraft and Pratt & Whitney, are well positioned to continue providing uninterrupted contractor logistics support for the T-1A fleet,” said Ed Gloviak, president of L-3 Systems Field Support. “Over the past decade, we have performed effectively and efficiently in supporting the T-1A fleet.”

L-3 Systems Field Support has major operations in Rockwall, TX, Madison, MS, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK Lexington, KY, and Fort Rucker, AL.
