Jaunt Adds Another Member to eVTOL Alliance

Airport Management Specialist Avport Added to Access Skyways Agreement

Jaunt Air Mobility has announced the addition of Airport management and operations company Avport to their joint eVTOL project, the Access Skyways Alliance. The Skyways program is intended to assist potential aircraft customers with all the necessary infrastructure needed for eVTOL operations, from vertiport construction and supply and demand modeling.

The addition of a new, relatively unheard of aircraft type can be a daunting challenge for airports, especially given the expected use case of frequent ride shares and passenger demand far above previous helicopter traffic. With the Alliance, Jaunt hopes to have a framework to streamline the multifaceted project of integrating eVTOL aircraft. Jaunt has continuously sought to bring more organizations into the fold, hoping to flesh out its ecosystem before wide-ranging construction begins on eVTOL projects around the world. The addition of Avports brings their expertise in airport management and operations to the fore, specifically in the small and mid-sized airports that will see the bulk of eVTOL operations.

Jorge Roberts, chief executive of Avports, said joining the alliance is a great fit for the two. "Climate change is an all-important industry challenge. With 95 years of airport management experience, Avports is positioned to be part of the solution. The future of air travel has to be environmentally friendly and sustainable," said Roberts. "By collaborating with Jaunt Air Mobility and the Access Skyways Alliance to provide zero-emission vehicle solutions, we act on our community leadership values and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) principles. We are dedicated to working towards carbon-free travel on behalf of our customers and the communities we serve."

"Access Skyways is an agreement with organizations with distinct areas of expertise in the planning, design, development, and integration of eVTOL aircraft into the existing global transportation system," said Simon Briceno, chief commercial officer for Jaunt. The program offers expertise in construction, cost analysis, vertiport design, electrification, flight operations, and community engagement through its constituent members. "As an OEM, we will be working with operators around the globe. We are pleased to partner with Avports as their expertise provides critical elements to making this service a reality," said Briceno.
