APS Upset Training President Joins NBAA Safety Committee

Paul 'BJ' Ransbury Officially Welcomed To The Panel At NBAA2014

The NBAA Safety Committee officially welcomed Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) president, Paul BJ Ransbury (pictured) to the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Safety Committee at their annual meeting at NBAA 2014 in Orlando Monday afternoon.

“We look forward to BJ’s on-going contribution to our team of passionate and dedicated aviation safety professionals.” said Steve Charbonneau, the in-coming NBAA Safety Committee Chairman, “The NBAA Safety Committee promotes safety as the cornerstone value of business aviation by identifying significant industry risks and serving as a center of expertise on a wide range of safety matters. BJ’s expertise with upset prevention and recovery training will nicely round out our existing team of subject matter experts on the committee.”

APS, Ransbury’s global network of specialized flight schools, specialize in effectively delivered upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) which mitigates the loss of control in-flight (LOC-I) threat to air safety through pilot education and practical skill development. LOC-I is defined as flight that occurs outside of the normal flight envelope with an inability of the pilot to control the aircraft. In a report issued by Boeing in August 2014, the Commercial Aviation Safety Team’s statistical research identifies LOC-I as the leading cause of fatalities in jet aviation worldwide over the past 10 years, 2004 through 2013.

“I am deeply honored and privileged to be accepted as a member of this prestigious and safety-focused organization of aviation experts.” says Paul BJ Ransbury, president of Aviation Performance Solutions, former military pilot, airline pilot, and upset training instructor, “I hope my many years of experience training, flying and working with professional pilots around the world facilitates opportunities to help advance the NBAA Safety Committee’s mission of air safety.”
