Lake Aircraft Taps AvStrategies to Market Amphibian Assets

Includes Type Certificate, Tooling, Drawings And Other Property

The most ubiquitous and recognizable land, sea and air vehicle of all time, the Lake Aircraft line of amphibious aircraft, has taken a major step towards being sold with the appointment of AvStrategies to market the assets. The offering includes the FAA Type Certificate, tooling, drawings and other intellectual property needed to manufacture and sell the plane worldwide.

Before pausing production in 2015, over 1300 Lakes were built and operated in all corners of the globe.  The most recent model, the Lake Model 250, came in 3 variants including the Renegade, turbocharged Seafury and special mission Seawolf.  It was the last known single-engine amphibian in production approved to the FAA’s most stringent FAR Part 23 certification standards in the world, giving it a unique, competitive edge.

With FAA certification costs of a clean-sheet design approaching $100 million-plus today, it’s likely the certified platform and tooling will be of interest to existing airplane manufacturers, well-heeled enthusiasts and emerging markets.

AvStrategies has been matching investors to great aviation companies since 2006.  Other aircraft programs currently being marketed include the Meyers 200, Interceptor 400 and a prominent kit airplane manufacturer.
