Also Selected For Future Certified 360 Series Piston Aircraft
Engines
Airwolf oil filter systems have been selected by Superior Air
Parts as an option for installation on its soon-to-be-certified 360
series aircraft engines.
Superior has approved Airwolf filter kits as an option on its
certified 360 engines, and available immediately as an option on
its experimental XP-360 Engine© and their SL 360 engine kits.
The Superior 360 is a flat-four, air-cooled powerplant in several
variants producing between 180 hp and 200 hp, and is offered in
carbureted and fuel injected versions. It will be available as a
certified, zero-time engine in the near future and is currently
available as a non-certified XP-360 Engine® for kit/homebuilt
aircraft.
Superior also offers the SL-360 engine kit. The
FAA certificate will allow Superior to vie for OEM installations in
certified aircraft. The 360 was designed and engineered to accept
an oil filter system. Superior assessed several systems and,
without reservation, selected Airwolf. Airwolf has delivered
thousands of filter kits for all types of air-cooled engines, from
the smallest four-cylinder up to the largest radial.
Airwolf systems are remote-mounted, usually on the firewall,
producing lower oil temperatures, while mounting the filter
vertically makes replacement simple and convenient - no drips, no
mess. All systems are lifetime warranted for workmanship.
Superior's senior vice-president, Tim Archer, said
he has total confidence in the Airwolf system. "As the new player
in certified engines we must be extremely diligent in quality
assurance," he said. "We demand the highest standards in our
engines, components and ancillary systems, and we are confident
Airwolf filters will protect them throughout their life. Over the
years, Airwolf has proven itself - no failures and no AD's, ever.
That convinced us to go with them," Archer added.
John Kochy, Airwolf president commented, "We are extremely proud to
be named a new supplier to this revolutionary engine, right from
the start. With the first new engine from a newly certified
manufacturer, we think they have a winner, and it is gratifying to
be associated with them. We are honored."
