CAE to Open Vienna, Austria Training Center

Facility to House Europe’s First Global 7500 FFS

CAE, the Canadian technology concern and maker of world-renowned aircraft simulators, announced on 22 May 2022 that it is expanding its global network of simulator training centers to Central Europe.

The announcement, made at 2023’s European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE 2023), set forth that CAE will presently open a new business aviation training center in Vienna, Austria. Operations at the new facility are slated to get underway in the latter half of 2024. What’s more, CAE intends to provision its new Vienna training center with Europe’s first Bombardier Global 7500 Full-Flight Simulator (FFS). The move promises to afford European operators of Bombardier’s Global 7500 ultra-long-range business jet unprecedented access to quality pilot training on the eminently popular model.

CAE Group president of civil aviation Nick Leontidis stated:  "Vienna is the ideal location for CAE's new business aviation training center in Central Europe. This new center will be a game-changer for business aviation training in the region, offering programs on the region's most sought-after aircraft platforms in an immersive learning environment. CAE Vienna is another example of the significant investments we are making to bring business aviation training closer to where our customers operate their aircraft."

CAE will initially operate six state-of-the-art full-flight simulators in Vienna, including the Global 7500, a Global 6000 Vision, and four yet-to-be-announced FFSs germane to rival manufacturer’s business jets models.

Designed and built to provide the most advanced pilot training experience in Central Europe while maintaining an eye toward future expansion, the new eight-thousand-square-meter facility encompasses space for up to nine additional full-flight simulators.

CAE’s new Vienna training center occasions a singular instance of the company’s ongoing campaign to expand and optimize its global business aviation network.

In November 2022, CAE opened a Singapore training center featuring a newly-installed Gulfstream G650 FFS. In April 2023, the company commenced operations at its first U.S. West Coast training center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Looking ahead, CAE intends to further expand its global network of FFS training centers by dint of facilities in Lake Nona, Florida and Savannah, Georgia—both of which are on track to receive their first trainees before the end of 2023.
