'Harlem Shake' Draws FAA Investigation

Colorado College Students Dance In The Aisle Of An Airliner

The FAA is investigating an incident in which students from Colorado College on their way to an Ultimate Frisbee tournament performed the "Harlem Shake" in the aisle of the Frontier Airlines Flight 157. A video of the dance posted on YouTube has drawn more than 400,000 views, and an investigation by the FAA.

The College's newspaper The Catalyst reports that FAA spokesperson Tony Molinaro said "when (investigators) saw the video, they decided to look into it because it is better to be safe than sorry."

The video begins with one student dancing in the aisle. Eventually everyone on the plane is dancing, most still in their seats. It was described by one passenger as "a riot on the plane."

The student who made the video said that the CC Frisbee team had been given permission by the flight crew to perform the dance and record it.

The previous Saturday, about 200 people in downtown Colorado Springs performed the dance for cameras.
