Tampa Airport Returns To Normal After Security Scare

Concourse Evacuated After Suspect Item Found

ANN REALTIME REPORTING 11.01.06 1345 EDT: Things are returning to normal at Tampa (FL) International Airport, where the discovery of a 'suspicious item' by TSA screeners resulted in the partial evacuation of the airport terminal.

A spokesperson for the airport told Reuters that Airside A -- used by JetBlue, AirTran, Frontier and Continental, as well as Northwest/KLM --  of the airport was shut down for about one hour, as screeners determined the unidentified item was not a threat.

"I'm counting up the number of flights that were impacted," the spokeswoman added. She did not know exactly what the item was, or how it was found.
