Pilot Flying Over Ireland Report Sighting A 'Very Fast' UFO

Several Pilots Report Seeing A 'Very Bright' Object Last Friday

Multiple pilots flying over Ireland reported seeing a "very bright" UFO last Friday, according to audio recordings of traffic between the pilots and air traffic control.

CNN reports that at least four pilots reported seeing the object. One asked if there was any military activity in the area, and was told there was not.

The pilot told Shannon ATC that the object was moving very fast. "It came up on our left hand side (rapidly veered) to the north, we saw a bright light and it just disappeared at a very high speed ... we were just wondering. We didn't think it was a likely collision course .. (just wondering) what it could be," the pilot said.

The pilot of a Virgin flight said that he had seen two "bright lights at 11 o'clock (which) seemed to bank over to the right and then climb away at speed."

A third pilot said that the objects were traveling at speeds of around "Mach 2".

Aviation expert Gerry Byrne told The Irish Examiner that it was likely a meteor.

The Irish Aviation Authority said that it has filed a report following "reports from a small number of aircraft on Friday, November 9th of unusual air activity." An IAA spokesman said that the incident would be investigated "under the normal confidential occurrence investigation process."
