EAA 2009 Sweepstakes Plane On Display At BizAv Show
Talk about shaking things up a bit. Flight Design USA announced
Friday its 2009 MC light sport aircraft will be on display at the
National Business Aircraft Association trade show to be held in
Orlando, FL Convention Center on October 6-8. The MC will be a
featured item in the EAA's display space at NBAA, as the MC is one
of the prizes to be offered in the organization’s 2009
Sweepstakes.
"We received word from NBAA officials that the MC (Metal
Concept) Light-Sport Aircraft is the first aircraft in the new
segment ever to appear in their annual convention and trade show,"
said Flight Design USA president Tom Peghiny.
NBAA spokesman Dan Hubbard confirmed, "We believe this is the
first LSA to be shown at the Convention."
The National Business Aircraft Association, running its 61st
convention, is one of the nation’s major shows, and is the
largest general aviation trade show measured by exhibitors.
"For the price of one business jet or business-configured
airliner, you could buy a sizeable fleet of MCs or our
top-of-the-line CTLS," Peghiny said.
The CT series is the best selling Light-Sport Aircraft by a wide
margin, with its 20% market share more than double the number two
selling LSA and representing a greater share of the market than the
numbers three, four, and five LSA combined.
Introduced at AirVenture 2008, the MC is aimed at recreational
buyers who prefer metal to composite construction. MC is optimized
for the flight training industry in the USA and around the world. A
spacious cabin (more than 51 inches wide) is significantly roomier
for two persons than most aircraft used for instruction.
EAA's Sweepstakes is a major annual fundraiser for the member
organization's major activities such as the Young Eagles program
and other aviation education and preservation initiatives, and
provides the essential support for the members' extraordinary
efforts to promote and enhance aviation.
