Airbus to Recruit 13,000 Employees in 2023

High-Times in Toulouse

Airbus, the European multinational aerospace consortium and—owing to Boeing’s precipitous fall from agency—the world’s largest manufacturer of airliners, announced during 2023’s Paris Air-Show that it looks to fill 13,000 positions occasioned by unprecedented demand for its products.

Notwithstanding an onerous labor market, the airframer, to date, has filled some seven-thousand positions across the breadth of its design, fabrication, and assembly divisions. Plans are in place to fill the remaining positions before the end of 2023.

Airbus chief of human resources and workplace officer Thierry Baril stated: “We are happy to see that Airbus remains attractive despite the labor market challenges. Our recruitment efforts are paying-off and will continue to support our production ramp-up and company transformation. We are focused on attracting, training, and developing the best diverse talents in our company to help us shape the future of sustainable aerospace.”

In addition to thousands of opportunities in its engineering and manufacturing sectors, Airbus is looking to fill vacancies in cybersecurity, software engineering, and advanced propulsion technologies—e.g., hydrogen, cryogenics, and fuel-cells.

One-third of Airbus’s projected recruitment will be allocated to recent graduates.

By virtue of the Airbus Academic Program and agreements with CEMS, a cooperative comprising 34 leading business-schools, multinational companies, and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs); and UNITECH, a network of European technical universities dedicated to advancing the careers of aspiring engineers and technical professionals, Airbus maintains academic partnerships with no fewer than 42 business-schools and universities. Subject partnerships foster synergies conducive to the development of capable aerospace professionals by whom Airbus intends to see its success perpetuated.

Currently, Airbus employs north of 134,000 individuals across myriad technical, administrative, and manufacturing positions. In 2023, the Top Employers Institute, an independent global organization with foci in management and Human Resources (HR) policies, awarded Airbus Top Employers certification in Europe, North America, and the Asia Pacific region.
