Dassault Delivers First Falcon Business Jet Registered In China

CITIC Flying Falcon 2000 Until Its Falcon 900DX Is Ready

Aero-News has learned Dassault recently delivered the first Falcon business jet registered in the People’s Republic of China. As announced earlier this year, the pre-owned 3,100nm Falcon 2000 was delivered to CITIC.

CITIC is operating the Falcon 2000 while they await delivery of a new 4100 nm Falcon 900DX in late 2007. From their base in Beijing, CITIC will be able to reach any point in China with both the Falcon 2000 and Falcon 900DX.

"The Falcon family of aircraft are all uniquely suited for the demanding operations that exist in China,” said John Rosanvallon, President and CEO of Dassault Falcon. “We’re in the enviable position of being able to offer an exceptional product with unsurpassed efficiency and performance and we expect increasing success in the coming years."

CITIC is the largest state owned financial services holding company in China. Their Falcon 900DX (type shown below) order was the first for a new Falcon in that country.

At the time of the order signing, Rosanvallon said "This order represents a very big step forward for Dassault not only because it’s our first firm order for a new aircraft in China, but because CITIC is a highly respected member of the corporate community."

Earlier this year, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) presented a type certificate to Dassault Falcon for the Falcon 900 and Falcon 2000 family of aircraft as well as the Falcon 50EX. Type certification from the CAAC for the Falcon 7X is expected in 2008.

Dassault Falcon Customer Service also recently named Mr. K.C. Chan as a dedicated Field Technical Representative based in Beijing. This new position will support Falcon operators and transient travelers in that region. For the last 16 years, he worked with Honeywell and, most recently, he was at Hawker Pacific Asia where he was a Chief Engineer involved in MRO work.

In mid-2005, Carlos Brana was named Dassault Falcon Jet’s Regional Sales Manager dedicated to China. He has spent the previous 20 years with Dassault Aviation in St. Cloud, France as a sales manager in the defense division.

Dassault Falcon Jet Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dassault Aviation, and is
responsible for selling and supporting Falcon business jets throughout North America,
South America, and the Pacific Rim countries of Asia... including, of course, China.
