Dr. John B. 'Jack' Mowell Tapped As Chairman Of The Board At Aspen

Florida Resident And Former Naval Aviator Seen As A Strong Business Leader

Dr. John B. “Jack” Mowell has been elected as Chairman of the Board for Aspen Avionics.  Dr. Mowell, a Tallahassee, FL resident, is a diversified business executive in the fields of aviation, the life sciences and oil and gas. He became an investor in and joined the Aspen board of directors on October 11, 2012.

“We are thrilled for Jack to lead our distinguished group of investors. His in-depth aviation experience coupled with his visionary business acumen will be invaluable as Aspen continues to grow,” said John Uczekaj, President and CEO, Aspen Avionics.

“I recognized early on that Aspen possessed all of the essential characteristics necessary for significant long term growth in general and business aviation. Aspen’s solid leadership, combined with a talented and innovative staff, provides the fundamental resource base to address the needs of the aviation industry with revolutionary products and innovative technologies,” said Mowell.

Prior to joining Aspen’s board, Dr. Mowell was the Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of EMS Technologies, a leading, worldwide provider of communication products that served highly-classified space, military, mobile, and airborne wireless markets. Dr. Mowell was a senior leader and driving force behind EMS from its inception until its acquisition by Honeywell in 2011.

Dr. Mowell, a former US Naval Aviator, has a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, is a graduate of the Wharton School of Commerce and Finance, and holds an Honorary Doctorate in Aviation from Rocky Mountain College.
