Stakeholders Will Address Aviation Industry Environmental
Challenges
Jeppesen said Monday it will serve as a founding member of the
Lindbergh Foundation Aviation Green Alliance by supporting the
nonprofit organization that brings stakeholders together to address
environmental challenges facing the aviation industry, including
emissions, noise and operational efficiency.
During a ceremony held at the NBAA Annual Meeting and
Convention, Jeppesen President and CEO Mark Van Tine was recognized
by Lindbergh Foundation Aviation Green Alliance Chairman Larry
Williams for supporting the organization, with several Aviation
Green Alliance board members in attendance. The Aviation Green
Alliance was established earlier this year to encourage solutions,
acknowledge progress and communicate ideas among aviation-related
companies when considering environmental issues related to
aviation.
“Jeppesen fully supports the collaborative effort led by
the Lindbergh Foundation Aviation Green Alliance to develop
solutions for addressing environmental challenges facing the
aviation industry,” said Mark Van Tine, Jeppesen president
and CEO. “The Aviation Green Alliance organization offers an
opportunity for aviation-related companies and individuals to share
best practices and establish innovative programs to help guide
environmental stewardship related to aviation industry
operations.”
The Aviation Green Alliance will create multiple platforms for
members to share strategies, findings, progress and ideas related
to the environment and the aviation industry. The Aviation Green
Alliance offers industry members numerous resources for solution
development, including up-to-date environmental news and
information. Additional elements offered by the organization
include grant funding for the discovery and development of new
technologies, recommended practices for achieving measurable
conservation and sustainability initiatives, educational programs
to highlight progress achieved and recognition of member
successes.
“We are thrilled that Jeppesen will be among our elite
group of Founding Members,” said Lindbergh Foundation
Chairman and CEO Larry Williams. “When I note that their
Environmental Policy Statement is a part of the Company’s
core values and beliefs, I’m confident Jeppesen will make a
significant contribution to Aviation Green Alliance. With their 77
year history of innovation, Jeppesen continues to be an excellent
model for other companies in our industry by leading the way once
again—this time, for our environment.”
