Statoil Exercise Options, Extend Contract With CHC Helicopter In Norway

Inks $90 Million Deal For SAR Services

Statoil has exercised options to extend its contract with CHC Helikopter Service AS, securing helicopter search-and-rescue services to its Tampen and Oseberg fields until 2019 in a deal worth over $90 million.

CHC will continue to provide offshore search-and-rescue services to the fields using three new technology H225 aircraft.

CHC also delivers crew change services to Statoil in Norway, the United Kingdom, and Canada said Arne Roland, regional director for CHC Helikopter Services, CHC’s flying operations.

“Statoil’s decision recognises the safety, quality and flexibility of CHC’s services and the professionalism of our people. With our fleet of new technology aircraft positioned along the Norwegian coast, we are ready to deliver services to meet Statoil’s changing needs,” Mr. Roland said.

Statoil confirmed that it would exercise the options under an existing contract which started in 2009. The extension period runs from April 2016 for three years.

This contract follows announcements earlier in 2015 that Statoil was expanding its contract with CHC to include further search-and-rescue services from Sola Airport. This latest award extends the decades-long relationship between Statoil and CHC.
