Robotic Skies Raises Venture Capital In Funding Round

Led By Kickstart Seed Fund And Includes Sun Mountain Capital

Robotic Skies, LLC, has raised a round of venture capital financing. The investment round was led by Kickstart Seed Fund of Salt Lake City, Utah, and included participation by Sun Mountain Capital of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The capital will accelerate the expansion of the Robotic Skies maintenance network for high-end commercial unmanned aircraft systems (also known as UAS or drones).

"We are very excited that this group of experienced investors recognizes the unique solutions that Robotic Skies brings to the emerging unmanned aerospace market and decided to join our team," said Robotic Skies CEO Brad Hayden. "We look forward to accessing our capital partners' pools of technical talent and expertise as we grow our network's supporting infrastructure."

Robotic Skies is a brokered global network of more than 150 independently-owned and operated repair stations that have the aviation expertise to provide maintenance and repairs on commercial unmanned systems. Robotic Skies draws on only the best FAA- and aviation authority-approved maintenance organizations currently maintaining manned aircraft to offer comprehensive field service programs designed to keep UAS flying safely, efficiently and affordably.

"The team at Robotic Skies is addressing a fundamental need in the surging drone economy and has the opportunity to become the global leader in repair, maintenance, and services for commercial operators and manufacturers of advanced UAS," said Dalton Wright, partner at Kickstart Seed Fund. "We think the sky is the limit for this company."

Robotic Skies markets its services to commercial UAS manufacturers and enterprise fleet operators. Launched in the spring of 2014, the company has built an impressive portfolio of clients who manufacture or operate complex unmanned systems, ranging from high-end industrial multirotors to optionally piloted aircraft.

"Brad Hayden has a lifetime of experience in the aviation sector and understands the changing landscape and the opportunity that lies ahead in the global UAS market. He is representative of the innovation and talent New Mexico has to offer and we are excited to back him and his team at Robotic Skies," said Lee Rand, Partner at Sun Mountain Capital.
