Spirit Airlines' Pilots Ratify Labor Contract Agreement

No More Beanie-Weenies For Lunch--They've Got A Contract!

Spirit Airlines' pilots, represented by ALPA, has ratified their four-year contract with 70 percent of voting pilots in favor of the agreement. "We are pleased with the ratification of this agreement so we may together focus on key areas for continued successes of Spirit Airlines," said Jacob Schorr, president and CEO of Spirit Airlines.

"Spirit has some of the most productive pilots in the industry and this new contract will allow for even more productivity helping to ensure the success of our company. For the past six months, we have worked in earnest to find a fair and equitable agreement that is in the best interests of everyone involved. We would like to thank ALPA and its negotiating committee members for their tireless efforts even through the holiday season," continued Schorr.

"Over the term of the previous contract, our industry and company have gone through an upheaval never seen before. Together, our pilots and company, have gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure Spirit's future and we look forward to continuing this relationship," said Schorr.

"We appreciate the support of the ALPA membership and look forward to operational and customer service excellence for Spirit Airlines for many years to come," continued Schorr.

Spirit Airlines is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.,  and is the largest privately-held airline in the U.S. Spirit services Atlantic City, N.J., Chicago/O'Hare, Denver, Detroit, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Myrtle Beach, S.C., New York/LaGuardia, San Juan, Puerto Rico and the Florida cities of Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa and seasonal service to West Palm Beach.
