Will Assess, Develop Programs To Influence Industry
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical
University–Worldwide has launched a new center dedicated to
developing future leaders for the aviation and aerospace
industry.
The Center for Aviation and Aerospace Leadership will perform
multiple roles, including collecting and developing profiles on
civilian and military leaders in aviation and aerospace; offering
leadership assessments for individuals and organizations;
delivering leadership development programs for both individuals as
well as teams; conducting leadership studies that are tailored for
the industry; issuing periodic reports on leadership issues;
administering a major research program on collaborative innovation
across the industry; and developing an online knowledge management
capability to meet the leadership-related needs of higher education
and industry.
According to retired Air Force Brig. Gen. Robert Mansfield, "The
challenges facing the aviation and aerospace industry today are
complex, and there is a tremendous need for programs that can train
and prepare leaders to meet these challenges."
The center also plans to publish case studies for use in
corporate training and higher education, as well as a new journal
on leadership for the aviation and aerospace industry.
"Embry-Riddle Worldwide is delighted to be able to offer a
program to meet the needs of future leaders who can sustain our
position in an industry that is critical to the economy and our
national security," said Dr. Robert Materna, director of the new
center.
