Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation on Display At 2019 DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase

Hoover Foundation Located at Booth #407 at DSAS19

Shortly after its debut with a new tradeshow display at the 2019 NBAA-BACE event, the Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation will be participating in the upcoming 2019 Deland Sport Aviation Showcase (DSAS19), as an exhibitor. Taking place at the DeLand Municipal Airport, DSAS has emerged as the Fall’s most prominent regional sport aviation event. This year’s event starts November 14th at 0800 and extends until November 16th at 1700 ET. For those driving in, there will be copious road signs, as you close in on the airport, that will direct you to parking, admissions, and registration.

For those of you flying in... Sydney H. Taylor Field is located in Volusia County, approximately 40 miles north of Orlando. The airport has two intersecting runways; Runway 5/23, which is 4,301 feet long by 75 feet wide and Runway 12/30, which is 6,000 feet long by 100 feet wide.

The Foundation will be a part of DSAS19 as an adjunct to its mission to promote the world of aviation, inspire the next generation of aviators and aviation professionals, and to establish better relationships within the sport aviation community -- a segment of the aviation world that Mr. Hoover was particularly fond of.

Portraying images and video from Hoover’s immense history of aviation excellence, the new tradeshow display, in display area #407, will be staffed by volunteers from the Foundation, who will be discussing the Foundation’s efforts to honor Bob’s historic legacy with a more aggressive mission plan that will be revealed in coming weeks.

The Foundation is led by President Tracy Forrest, and Chairman Michael Herman, who work alongside fellow Board of Director members, George Gould, Brian Cochran, Joan Cochran, James G. Kidrick, and Rich Pickett.

Established by Bob prior to his passing in the fall of 2016, the Foundation’s purpose is to perpetuate Bob’s dedication to excellence, integrity, learning and mentorship that drove his fabled aviation career by financially supporting educational institutions and to inspire the next generation of American aviation leadership. The Foundation is a 501C3 tax deductible organization.

The Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation supports educational development and mentoring to people of all ages who are pursuing careers in aviation and aerospace. Through accredited institutions of higher education, the foundation will provide scholarships to deserving people who exhibit qualities representing the intellect, drive and generosity representative of future leaders.

In addition to financial scholarships, Bob’s wish is that the Foundation provide enhanced safety training, mentoring and networking opportunities and remains dedicated to partnering with other aviation/aerospace organizations adhering to the same basic precepts.
