Lily Flying Camera Shipments Delayed Again

Company Still Working On Final Hardware Refinements

The makers of the Lily flying camera have released a statement saying that shipments of the drone have been delayed again.

In a notice posted to the Lily Camera website, company founders Antoine Balaresque and Henry Bradlow apologized for the latest delay. "We told you we would deliver your Lily Camera this summer, and we are sorry that hasn’t happened. We’ve spent the last few months working on a final hardware build and have been eager to give you a schedule update. Now that we are finally at the gates of mass production, we’re thrilled to share our delivery plan with you," the founders said.

"All United States pre-orders will ship between December 2016 and January 2017. Pre-orders will be fulfilled in the order in which they were placed. Due to regulatory and logistical constraints, international pre-orders will start shipping later in 2017. We will be sharing a more detailed rollout plan in the coming weeks. In the meantime, your pre-order dollars will continue to remain untouched.

"Our new Head of Engineering recently joined us with more than 25 years of experience developing consumer devices and successfully launching them to market. With production hardware finalized under his leadership (more information on what went into this final build here), we are on track to start Beta Phase 2 in less than a month.

"We’ve embarked on a journey to create a self-flying camera not just for hobbyists and professionals, but for any creative mind looking to capture the world from a new angle. This would not be possible without you. However, if you’d like a refund, please contact support@lily.camera and we will process your request as soon as we can.

"Thank you again for your support. Your vote of confidence means everything to us."

The company has posted a schedule for deliveries on its website.
