HondaJet to Debut Elite II at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023

For the first time in the company’s 16-year history, Greensboro, South Carolina-based Honda Aircraft Company will display its HondaJet Elite II at EAA’s AirVenture 2023 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

The HondaJet Elite II—and an accompanying selection of Honda products—will be exhibited throughout the 24 through 30 July event. Honda’s AirVenture 2023 display has been carefully curated to showcase the company’s dedication to improving personal mobility on air, land, and sea.

An evolution of Honda’s HA-420 HondaJet, the HondaJet Elite II improves on its forebear’s aerodynamics, performance, maximum gross weight, fuel-capacity, range, and cockpit appointments.

Announced on 17 October 2022, the $6.95-million HondaJet Elite II is a seven-to-eight occupant, low-wing monoplane comprising a composite fuselage and an aluminum wing. The aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 11,100-pounds and is powered by a pair of 2,050-lbf, over-wing-mounted, General Electric HF120 turbofan engines with a thrust-to-weight ratio of 4.4. So motivated, the model manages a maximum cruise speed of 422-knots, a service-ceiling of FL430, and a four-occupant IFR range of 1,547-nautical-miles.

HondaJet Elite II pilots manage and operate the aircraft by way of a G3000 avionics suite and a host of workload-reducing features the likes of automated anti-ice, lighting, and pressurization systems; automated ground-spoilers; a steering augmentation system by which taxiing is greatly simplified; and optional autothrottle and emergency auto-land systems.

The HondaJet Elite II has been type certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

To date, the global fleet of 230 HondaJet aircraft has logged in excess of 180,000 flight hours.

In addition to the HondaJet Elite II, AirVenture attendees are invited to explore a range of Honda products spanning the storied marque’s latest powersports, marine, and automotive lineups. Offroad motorcycle enthusiasts will enjoy looking over the Honda HRC CRF250R factory bike ridden by two-time 250cc AMA Motocross & 250cc AMA Supercross Champion Jett Lawrence.

In point of fact, AirVenture 2023 will see Honda Aircraft Company proudly present history’s largest single display of Honda products.

To promote the continuing development and broadened use of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), Honda Aircraft Company’s ferry flights to Oshkosh will make use of the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Book and Claim (SAFC) Program.
