Linear Air Launches VLJ Air Taxi Service In New York City

Touts Economic Advantages Over Airlines

Air taxi provider Linear Air announced this week the launch of its Eclipse EA500 flight service in the greater New York City area.

"Linear Air's goals are to provide customers with a high-quality travel experience that is hassle-free, time efficient and cost effective," said William Herp, president and CEO of Linear Air. "With convenient and personalized service, Linear Air is pleased to offer business and leisure travelers in the greater New York City area a bold new option for air travel."

The company touts the economy of the Eclipse 500 as a major selling point to potential customers. In addition to cost-savings, however, other considerations include wider network availability, as Linear Air serves 10 times more airports than the traditional commercial airlines.

That flexibility allows Linear Air to reach remote destinations, in a shorter amount of time than airlines would provide.

Linear Air's EA500 is based at the White Plains/Westchester County Airport in New York, but will be servicing major and regional airports throughout the tri-state region as well as the Northeast and mid-Atlantic.
