Eight U.S. ANG Facilities To Receive IT Upgrades

Contract With Harris Corporation Reportedly Worth $10 Million

The U.S. National Guard Bureau has awarded a $10 million contract to IT company Harris Corporation to upgrade communications for eight Air National Guard (ANG) facilities.  The agreement is in addition to two other Harris programs already supporting 14 Guard bases.

The Bureau's IT services modernization will provide an integrated, high bandwidth, structured cabling system that delivers sufficient information transport capability to support the Guard's current and future mission requirements.  The eight facilities to be upgraded are located in Savannah, GA; Savannah Combat Readiness Training Center; Gulfport, MS; Fresno, CA; Selfridge, MI; Rosecrans, MO; Thompson Field, MS; and Tulsa, OK.

"This effort continues the outstanding working relationship Harris has cultivated with the Air National Guard," said Mike Deloney, vice president and general manager, Department of Defense Programs, Harris IT Services.  "We already support two other programs that provide telecommunication enhancements and infrastructure upgrades on 14 Guard bases."
