Blue Origin has announced that its new home will be on the east coast of central Florida at Cape Canaveral. Blue Origin founder, Jeff Bezos, announced the development in a speech in Florida and on the company's blog Tuesday morning.

Bezos wrote in part, "We’ll be flying our orbital launch vehicle from Florida. We are thrilled to be coming to the Sunshine State for a new era of exploration.” The launch facility will be located at Complex 36. Bezos said the site saw its last launch in 2005 and the pad has stood silent for more than 10 years. He added, “We can’t wait to fix that.” When American Airlines sent an Airbus A321 on a route from Los Angeles to Hawaii on August 31, they mistakenly sent an airplane that was not certified for Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards, known as ETOPS. A developer in Cloverdale, California, north of San Francisco, is demanding that Cloverdale Municipal Airport, which has that has operated for 50 years, be closed and destroyed so that he can build a $200 million resort hotel and equestrian center on adjacent property. The developer says his resort will generate jobs and increase the property tax, bed tax, and sales tax receipts for the city, but the airport must go. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
