ERAU Adds to Frasca Simulator Fleet

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), Daytona Beach, FL will expand their fleet of Frasca simulators by adding an additional Frasca Cessna 172 Flight Training Device (FTD). The Level 6 FTD will feature Frasca’s TruVision 220 visual display system and Garmin G1000 advanced avionics. ERAU is also upgrading two of their existing 172 FTDs to include G1000 avionics.

Embry-Riddle’s current fleet of over 20 Frasca simulators are in use at both the Daytona Beach and Prescott, AZ campuses. These include a CRJ, Regional Jet FTD and Seminole and Cessna 172 FTDs. All devices are certified as FAA Level 6 FTDs. ERAU has also recently taken delivery of two Mentor Advanced Aviation Training Devices from Frasca.

The Mentor devices are being used to help alleviate training delays caused by hurricane damage to their simulator rooms that occurred in December of 2006. The Mentor AATDs also feature Garmin G1000 avionics.
