Combines Ground And Simulator Training In Preparation For Part 121 Operations
The FAA has approved the Airline Transport Pilot Certificate Training Program offered by Aerosim.
The ATP CTP is a course which has been mandated by the FAA to be completed by all pilots who wish to add an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate to their existing certificates in order to fly for a commercial airline (part 121 carrier). This also applies to pilots who wish to operate as a pilot in command (PIC) in the part 135 or part 91 environment. This course is a combination of both ground training and simulator training which helps prepare the pilot for the duties, responsibilities, and challenges of the air carrier environment.
Rick Brown, Aerosim’s director of training solutions adds that training for this certification will be provided by airline pilot instructors who will use current trends and events from the airline industry in the course.
Academic Training content includes:
- High altitude aerodynamics and maneuvering
- Airplane weather detection systems
- Advanced physiology/fitness for flight
- Multi-crew communication training
- Multi-crew environment checklist usage
- Low-visibility operations
- Advanced navigation concepts unique to air carrier operations
Simulator Training content will train participants in the areas of:
- Navigation
- Automation
- Runway safety
- High altitude operations
- Low energy states
- Upset prevention and recovery
In compliance with new FAA regulations effective August 1, 2014, this seven-day course consists of four days/30 hours of academic training, followed by three days/10 hours of simulator training.
