Nemesis NXT Debuts

Public Debut Coming At Oshkosh

It is often said that good things come to those who wait. Great things may take a little longer. The NemesisNXT was finally unveiled Friday at the Mojave Airport (CA). More than 200 guest attended the invitational event.

After four years, four kits delivered and one prototype built, Nemesis Air Racing is poised to demonstrate its sleek, new design. "It’s been an intense, busy four years", said Jon Sharp, designer, builder and pilot of the new aircraft.

Plans are being finalized for the public debut of the NemeisNXT at AirVenture in late July. Sharp also plans to race the NemesisNXT for the first time in the Sport Class division at the Reno Air Races in September.

The NXT, which stands for Neoteric eXperimental Technology, is a single engine, two place, retractable gear, kit aircraft of all molded carbon fiber construction. Powered by a world-class Lycoming Turbocharged 540 engine, the NemesisNXT is a high performance, breathtakingly fast sport plane now available in kit form.

The NXT design is the result of extensive wind tunnel testing, computer modeling, and the experiential proof of nine dominating years of Formula One Air Racing with NXT’s predecessor, the Nemesis.

Nemesis was retired to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in 2000. From 1991 – 1999, Team Nemesis enjoyed 47 victories out 50 (44 of the 50 were consecutive), 16 world speed records and numerous aviation awards. Shortly after the retirement of Nemesis in 2000, Team Nemesis began the design of the NemesisNXT.
